Speaking at a rally in Michigan, former President Donald Trump promised “the largest domestic deportation operation in the history of our country” on day 1 if re-elected.
“And if other countries say they won’t take them back, ‘we’re not going to take them back’, I will say that, yeah, here they come,” Trump said.
Trump, accompanied by local law enforcement, who say that they’ve been dealing with an influx of migrant crime, also contrasted the situation in America with the declining crime rates of countries in South America, specifically Venezuela, stating that these declines are a direct result of having criminals sent to the US.
“In Venezuela, crime is down 67% from a year and a half ago because they’re taking all of their gangs and criminals and they’re depositing them into the US,” Trump said.
“Wouldn’t we love to have a statistic where crime is down 67%?”
Trump further accused Joe Biden, who is currently expected to lose 6 of 7 swing states, of turning America into a land of “carnage” and “chaos” and creating a “bloodbath” at the border.
“Under crooked Joe Biden, every state is now a border state,” he said. “Every town is now a border town because Joe Biden has brought the carnage and chaos and killing from all over the world and dumped it straight into our backyards.”
Beyond deportation, Trump also reiterated his broader stance on immigration, stating that he’s fine with immigration so long as it’s legal and that the border must be closed to keep America safe.
As it stands, illegal border crossings at the US–Mexico border remain at record highs with no end in sight.
