Financial records reveal that short positions on Trump Media & Technology Group’s stock (NASDAQ: DJT) doubled in the days leading up to the recent assassination attempt on the former President.
Between July 1 and July 12, short positions against Trump Media stock curiously spiked from 7 million to 15 million shares. This represents a record level of shares shorted for DJT since its trading debut, as reported by Finbold.
Despite the fact that certain individuals were betting that the stock would crash, the correlation with the assassination attempt could of course be coincidental.
On Saturday, July 13, Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt from a gunman who, from a shockingly obvious and close location, fired five or six shots towards the former President. One shot grazed Trump’s right ear, one Trump supporter was killed, and two others were injured.
Incompetence at best
Former US Secret Service agent, Dan Bongino, said on Tuesday that an “unimpeachable source” told him that an officer was stationed at the shooter’s location on Saturday during the Trump rally, but for some reason did not show up.
Moreover, Bongino made another unverifiable claim, that the US Secret Service Director, Kim Cheatle, has “been told” to remain quiet or lose her job. Bongino worked in the Secret Service from 1999 to 2011.
Director Cheatle has refused to resign over the incompetence-at-best scenario, where police and secret service agents somehow let a man climb onto the perfect location, just 149 yards away, and fire multiple shots towards Trump before a sniper took the man out.
Director Cheatle told CNN that she considered stationing someone on the shooter’s roof, but opted not to because it was sloped and, therefore, dangerous. Pictures of the roof reveal it’s barely sloped, and clearly not something a secret service sniper couldn’t handle.
Experts, including former snipers, have expressed disbelief that such a location would not only be accessible, but that the shooter was able to get multiple clear shots off towards Trump from so close.
