After announcing a Jan. 24 speaking event with Premier Danielle Smith in Calgary, Tucker Carlson has extended his Alberta visit to include a speaking engagement at Rogers Place in Edmonton.
The decision came after his Calgary speaking appearance with Premier Smith sold out within 48 hours after it was announced last month.
“We have 4,000 on a waitlist, so we decided on adding a show and we thought Edmonton would make sense … we know the demand is massive,” said event organizer, Christian Darbyshire of Tine Public.
Carlson will share a stage with the National Post’s Rex Murphy and Conrad Black.
“You’re going to get to hear from them all, interesting commentary on global affairs,” Darbyshire said.
Alberta’s NDP and seething far-left activists have made it sound like Carlson coming to Canada is a threat to the country’s democracy. One individual even launched a petition last month, demanding Prime Minister Justin Trudeau deny Carlson entry in Canada.
The petition has acquired just under 3,500 signatures in one month.
Carlson launches his own network
The former Fox News anchor also just launched his own streaming service called the Tucker Carlson Network.
The new streaming platform will house exclusive content from Carlson. The platform will include his long-form interviews that he was previously posting on Elon Musk’s X. It’s unclear if Carlson will continue to post his interviews on X or if users will have to subscribe to his new streaming service to view them.
His new website states “News coverage in the West has become a tool of repression and control. Reporters no longer reveal essential information to the public; they work to hide it. Journalists act as censors on behalf of entrenched power. They have contempt for the public. They hate the truth.”
