Calgary mayor Jyoti Gondek promoted a book that teaches transgenderism to children as young as four-years-old.
Gondek promoted the book on Wednesday during a city council meeting to celebrate “Freedom To Read Week.”
She held up the book “The Hips On the Drag Queen Go Swish Swish Swish,” which is designed for all ages, and is a rendition of “The Wheels on the Bus Go Round Round Round.”
The difference, beyond the lyrics, is that the drag queen version depicts transgender individuals wearing hyper sexualized makeup while singing to children, including one bearded character who has breasts.
To say the book promotes trans ideology and transgenderism to toddlers is not hyperbolic, but a matter of public record. One of the authors of the book, a drag queen named Lil Miss Hot Mess, enthusiastically told a virtual child audience after reading the book to them: “I think we might have some drag queens in training on our hands!”
Lil Miss Hot Mess also happens to be a founding member of the Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) and serves on the board of the organization.
On Amazon, a reviewer of the book said that it inspired his four-year-old son to come out as trans.
“This book is so impactful that it helped our young son come out as trans, he even started dressing in drag. We always knew deep down he was a girl, so this book really steered him into the right direction. He’s only in pre school and he’s already made another trans friend as well!”
During the same council meeting in which Gondek promoted the book, another far-left councilor, Gian-Carlo Carra, wore a “Protect Trans Kids” T-shirt.
The development comes two weeks after Conservative Premier Danielle Smith announced a number of new policies centered around transgender-related issues. One of the policies bans hormone therapy for minors aged 16 and under.
A recent survey conducted among 1,116 Calgarians revealed a mere 30% approval rating for Gondek’s performance. The same poll showed that 61% of respondents expressed disapproval of the mayor.
The City of Calgary confirmed the reception of the recall petition against Mayor Gondek on January 30.
