NDP leader Jagmeet Singh announced he’s ending his pact with the Liberal Party that protected Prime Minister Justin Trudeau from non-confidence votes, meaning an election could be triggered any day.

Since 2022, the governing Liberals and NDP have had a ‘Supply and Confidence’ agreement that effectively makes the Liberals’ minority government a majority, and enables them to pass / avoid passing whatever legislative bills they want, all while getting protection from non-confidence votes.
The Counter Signal’s senior editor, Kat Kanada spoke with Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre on Wednesday as he responded to this development.

In exchange, the Liberals agreed to support some of the NDP’s pet policies, such as a national dental care plan.
The deal is done.

The Liberals are too weak, too selfish and too beholden to corporate interests to stop the Conservatives and their plans to cut. But the NDP can.

But Singh announced on Wednesday that “the deal is done.”
