Social media went ablaze on Monday after posts surfaced from Doritos’ new transgender spokesperson that include horrendous comments from 2015 regarding rape victims and sex with minors.
Many social media users offered sharp criticism towards Doritos and called for a boycott of the product after word got out that transgender social media influencer Samantha Hudson has been hired by Doritos Spain as a brand ambassador.
However it was Hudson’s alleged social media posts from 2015 that have so many up in arms.
X users began accusing Hudson of openly admitting to having pedophilic desires after a descriptive sexual tweet regarding a 12-year-old resurfaced.
Hudson is additionally being accused of attacking sexual assault victims for seeking resources such as medical care or counselling.
“I hate women who are victims of rape and who turn to self-help centers to overcome their trauma. What heavy whores,” Hudson posted on Twitter in 2015.
A video of Hudson was also dug up, where the influencer advocates for “the destruction and for the annihilation of the traditional family.”
Bud Light’s Boycott
Last year, the previously popular beer brand Bud Light attempted a similar advertising strategy by promoting a transgender woman, Dylan Mulvaney.
Mulvaney received hate after mocking women by displaying superficial and stereotypical feminine characteristics.
After Bud Light received backlash for supporting Mulvaney, the company experienced a 26% drop in store sales, and became silent on social media for multiple days.
Individuals on social media are now comparing Bud Light’s woke advertising failure to Doritos Spain’s new trans brand ambassador.
X users are commenting “make Doritos the next Bud Light” and “since we’re not drinking Bud Light, we don’t need Doritos either..”
Doritos Spain did not respond to a request for comment.
