Facebook is upgrading the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to the Ministry of Truth, after gifting the left-wing propaganda outlet “fact-checking” status on the global platform.
The partnering of big tech and governments to silence ordinary citizens should concern everyone.
Facebook announced that they will partner with CBC to silence criticism of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau under the guise of “fact-checking,” allowing the state broadcaster to kneecap stories that negatively reflect on Trudeau.
According to Blacklock’s Reporter, the CBC’s French-language arm Radio Canada will be surveilling other media outlets for inaccuracies during the election.
“Facebook requires fact-checking organizations to be independently certified,” Facebook’s spokesperson Alex Kucharski told Blacklock’s Reporter.
“Every fact-checking organization in our program is required to have a public appeals email address.”
The question nobody seems to be asking is who will fact-check the CBC?
Everybody knows that CBC News, an outlet that the federal government graciously gives billions to each year, is compromised by Liberal insiders, and biases their coverage to benefit the Liberals.
Besides, the CBC isn’t really known for the most accurate reporting. Remember the hijab hoax? When CBC News and every mainstream media outlet including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau himself turned fake news into a national story.
In reality, mainstream media outlets are responsible for keeping people misinformed. For the past two years, the media has been changing the narrative around COVID-19, vaccinations and public health measures nearly every week.
It was CBC News, who not too long ago dismissed the COVID-19 lab leak theory as a “conspiracy theory” and “one of the most persistent and widespread pieces of disinformation” during the pandemic.
If CBC can’t even get their basic facts right when it comes to their own reporting, how can Canadians trust the government-funded broadcaster to not censor information for political reasons?
