Judge Rouleau has booted Freedom Corp lawyer Brendan Miller from the Public Order Emergency Commission.

Judge Rouleau kicks out Freedom Corp lawyer from Emergencies Act inquiry

Miller, lead counsel for the Freedom Convoy protestors, was requesting that a new witness testify, Liberal staffer Alex Cohen, because he was present at the inquiry and heavily implicated in a recent discovery.

A Public Safety staffer, Cohen’s explosive text messages with a PMO counterpart were put forward as evidence during the inquiry. The texts indicate that the Liberals planned to frame the Ottawa protestors as “extreme” before they even arrived in Ottawa.

Miller made an oral application to have Cohen testify. After a break, Rouleau informed Miller he was denied and would have to apply in writing for new witnesses.

Subsequently, Miller and Rouleau had a tense exchange. They both spoke over each other before Rouleau called for another break, and for security to remove Miller.

Miller stormed out and did a media scrum outside.
