Far-left Hamilton Centre MPP Sarah Jama attended a Toronto “abolish the police” rally two weeks ago, as reported by the Hamilton Independent.
Jama, an NDP MPP, has been known for her radical stances on issues like the Israel-Palestine conflict, even before she won the by-election in March.
Jama’s social media post from June 25 reads, “POV: Riding in the accessibility van at the anti fascist, abolitionist pride march led by the No Pride in Policing Coalition because I forgot to charge my chair again @NoPolicing,” referring to her motorized wheelchair.
In her tweet, Jama advocated for the No Pride In Policing Coalition, which is a group that describes itself as “a group of queer and trans people formed to support BLM-TO [Black Lives Matter Toronto] and now focused on defunding and abolishing the police.” The group also calls for the abolishing of prisons.
Antifa
At the rally, a banner showed support for “anti-fascism.” Antifa members wear all black, hide their faces, destroy property, and set buildings on fire to make far-left political points.
Jama’s tweet in support of abolishing the police remains up to this day, even after Moses Levin, the 25-year old Toronto subway stabber, was arrested by police after traumatizing TTC riders.
Days after attending the rally, Jama doubled down and retweeted her support for “defunding, disarming, dismantling, abolishing” the police.
Jama’s antisemitism & the NDP’s communist views
Earlier this year, the Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation (CAEF) issued a formal letter to the Ontario New Democratic Party, saying it would be a “travesty” not to withdraw support for Jama.
“She calls for its destruction and supports the ‘Boycott Divestment and Sanctions’ movement designed to make the people of Israel — 45% of the worldwide Jewish population — poor, weak, and vulnerable to terrorist enemies seeking nothing less than their annihilation.”
However, Ontario NDP leader Marit Stiles has so far supported Jama, despite several calls for her to step down.
The NDP nationwide have been known to have anti-police stances.
At least five NDP candidates from Alberta’s May election openly bragged about their communist views, with one candidate even leading a Communist Party march.
