Following a “One Nation Under God” rally where parents protested LGBT Pride celebrations involving their children, Ottawa schools witnessed widespread student absence.

Ottawa schools see massive student absence amid protests against Pride Month

On June 15th, parents gathered on Parliament Hill in Ottawa to protest Pride Month activities taking place in schools while condemning the Pride flag and LGBT insanity.

During the Ottawa rally and annual walkout against Pride Month, some schools reported absentee rates as high as 70%, according to protest organizer and pro-family activist Kamel El-Cheikh. He noted that at one elementary school, 591 out of 738 students participated in a boycott of the Pride flag on June 4th.

Instead of joining in Pride celebrations, the children opted to participate in pray-ins at Catholic school boards and bishops’ offices.

El-Cheikh noted the success of the parent rally, stating, “Canada’s children belong to Canada’s parents” while advocating for people to celebrate “My Child June”—the same month as pride month.

The celebration would promote parental rights over children, encourage pro-family values, and denounce LGBT ideology in classrooms.

“We’re not violent. We’re a peaceful country…this is the thing that I think has been taken for granted because do not take our kindness for weakness,” he stated at the rally, according to footage from The Post Millennial.

He added his goal “was to bring people together and to build something that affirms the Canadian fabric. September 20 was not a one-and-done event,”  referring to the “Million Person March” he organized in September for parental rights.

Canadians from eight provinces took part in the annual walkout for 2024, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick

Trudeau demonizes parents protesting against Pride

Following the nationwide “Million Person March” in September 2023, Trudeau criticized thousands of the protestors, labeling them as transphobic, homophobic, and “biphobic.”

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre commented on this statement on X, saying, “Justin Trudeau always divides to distract from all he has broken.”

“This time, he is demonizing concerned parents. Parents should be the final authority on the values and lessons that are taught to children. Trudeau should butt out and let parents raise their kids,” Polievre added.
