Poilievre says Trudeau does whatever foreign dictators want

Canada’s leader of the Opposition, Pierre Poilievre, lambasted Justin Trudeau on Wednesday morning, saying the Prime Minister does whatever foreign dictators want in exchange for election wins.

Poilievre says Trudeau does whatever foreign dictators want

The Conservative Party leader made the announcement a day after the scandal-plagued Prime Minister’s family friend, David Johnston, reported that Trudeau was innocent among all alleged foreign interference scandals.

Johnston, a former Trudeau Foundation member, was tasked by Trudeau to look into alleged leaked intelligence claims that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) interfered in Canada’s 2019 and 2021 elections to help the Trudeau Liberals win and cause the Conservatives to lose.

“We know that Beijing interfered not once but twice to help Justin Trudeau get elected,” Poilievre said.

“And who can blame them?” he said. “Trudeau says he admires China’s basic communist dictatorship. He admires Fidel Castro.”

Poilievre continued, “He adheres to their ideology and so they want him in power and they’ve helped twice get him elected. He does whatever they want and they help him stay in power in exchange.”

Johnston’s report a waste of time

Poilievre further said he won’t bother looking into Johnston’s 56-page report that absolves Trudeau of any wrongdoing in relation to the interference allegations.

“[The CCP] gives $140,000 to the Trudeau Foundation. You know the Trudeau Foundation – David Johnston’s old organization? Well, Trudeau hires him to investigate the interference in the Trudeau Foundation and David Johnston says ‘Don’t worry about that, I had someone look into it and make sure I’m not in a conflict of interest’ and what do you know? That someone is a judge who is also a member of the Trudeau Foundation,” Poilieve said.

Poilievre continued to ridicule the entire process, bringing up conflict of interest after conflict of interest. He recalled that when the allegations first came out, Trudeau quickly hired a different Trudeau Foundation member, Morris Rosenberg, to clear his name.

“Out of 40 million people in Canada, there’s no one outside of the Trudeau Foundation qualified to look into this foreign interference scandal. This is ridiculous.”
