Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre broke his silence on the Million Person March that swept through major cities across Canada this week, defending parents and calling Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “divisive.”
Following Wednesday’s nationwide march to support parental rights over their children’s education, Trudeau slammed the thousands and thousands of protesters for being transphobic, homophobic, and “biphobic.”
“Justin Trudeau always divides to distract from all he has broken,” Poilievre said on Friday through X (formerly Twitter). “This time, he is demonizing concerned parents. Parents should be the final authority on the values and lessons that are taught to children. Trudeau should butt out and let parents raise their kids.”
The marches across Canada were in protest of the sexualization of children in schools and the fact that gender ideology is being taught to children, which most Canadians don’t even agree with.
Poileivre’s comments come after reports that he may have instructed Conservative MPs to avoid discussing the marches through social media.
On top of the Liberal PM Trudeau calling the parental rights protesters a bunch of bigots, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh marched alongside the trans rights activists and counter-protesters who stand for medically sterilizing children with gender dysphoria in the name of “gender-affirming care.”
People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier marched alongside the parental rights protesters in Ottawa.
Gender Ideology rejected
56% of Canadians recently polled said they believe there are just two genders, male and female, and this percentage is likely higher because a disproportionate amount of those surveyed didn’t identify as either male or female.
Most Canadians also side with parental rights in the school pronoun policy debate. 78% believe parents at least have a right to know when schools start using different pronouns on their children.
