A Toronto doctor, Christopher Sun, administered the COVID vaccine to hundreds of kids under the minimum eligible age of 5 years old, with some recipients being as young as six months.
Speaking with the Toronto Star, Sun said he felt compelled to disobey public health guidelines and administer the vaccines on behalf of parents who asked for them. Sun also doesn’t appear to regret his decision.
“I put my neck on the line and did what I wanted to get done, which was to protect children,” he said in an interview with the Star. “These are worried parents in time of a health crisis, and I think it’s wrong to turn away people who know what they are getting into.”
He further said he felt he “ethically had no reason to say no.”
“This wasn’t like someone asking for Ivermectin and not knowing what COVID was or how vaccines work,” he said. “These are people who actually read the studies and knew what they were asking for.”
“My understanding is that doctors are allowed to prescribe things off label, which we do all the time.”
According to the Star, Toronto Public Health told Sun to stop vaccinating kids under five and reported him College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario in March. However, Sun continued vaccinating the ineligible until the end of the month.
Sun subsequently stopped giving “off-label” COVID vaccines to the ineligible after public health officials stepped in.
Sun said he cautioned parents about possible unknowns in vaccinating those in the under-five age group but still pointed to Pfizer trial data, which he said showed that the vaccine initiated “quite a good immune response in kids who were six months to two years old in terms of antibody levels.”
As previously reported by The Counter Signal, COVID data from Ontario shows that there is little reason to believe the COVID vaccine effectively prevents transmission.
Based on data from April 5, just after Sun stopped vaccinating those under five, those with a booster dose were more likely to be infected with COVID-19 than any other group. Indeed, those with booster doses had 22.35 cases per capita, fully vaccinated had 15.47 cases per capita, and partially vaccinated or unvaccinated had 12.75 cases per capita.
Moreover, those who had not received two doses of the COVID vaccine had a COVID death rate of 0.02 per capita, as did the fully vaccinated. However, those who had received booster shots have a COVID death rate of 0.03 per capita.
Additionally, by March 11, 44,293 adverse events following inoculation with COVID vaccines had been reported to VAERS for those aged 5-17, including the following:
- 90 deaths following injection with the COVID vaccine
- 382 children left permanently disabled
- 1,232 who have come down with myocarditis
- 4,586 who needed to be rushed to the ER
- 196 reports of Bell’s Palsy
- 1,423 reports of severe allergic reactions
- 23 reports of an aneurysm or cerebral hemorrhaging (uncontrolled bleeding in the brain)
- 100 reports of appendicitis
- And many more lesser-known illnesses.
It is unlikely that Sun knew or disseminated this data to his ineligible patients’ parents.
