In order to avoid the accountability of a minority government, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is prepared to imminently call the election.
The Prime Minister’s official itinerary says that at 10 a.m. ET he will “arrive at Rideau Hall for a meeting with Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon,” with Sophie Trudeau.
Canadians from across the country will now have to crowd in voting centres while their hypocritical government still continues to crank up the fear and paranoia around COVID-19.
According to reports, the election will take place on September 20.
As everybody suspected, his claims about not wanting to force Canadians to the ballot during a pandemic was all a spectacle.
Trudeau is willing to risk it all just so that he can have his majority government and push through authoritarian laws like Bill C-10 or Bill C-36.
Do you need more proof of Trudeau’s greed for power?
For months, Trudeau was saying that nobody wanted an election and constantly accused the Conservatives of attempting to trigger one.
“No one wants an election during the pandemic. However, if an election was triggered by the opposition voting against the government, it must be held safely,” Trudeau said on May 12th.
As for Conservative Party Leader Erin O’Toole, he faces the prospect of losing his party’s official opposition status.
In a milquetoast campaign advertisement, O’Toole recently fretted about having an election during the pandemic.
“It’s time to worry about helping Canadians get back on their feet, the polls can wait until it’s safe. Now’s not the time for an election,” O’Toole tweeted on August 5th.
It’s no surprise that O’Toole doesn’t want people to “worry about the polls,” considering the fact that the Liberals have been consistently out-performing the Conservatives in every single election poll.
