Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s negative rating outweighs his positive one by 23 percentage points across Canada, according to an Angus Reid poll.
The June 23 data taken from nearly 4000 Canadians shows the Prime Minister is suffering double digit negative net favourable ratings in all nine provinces with large enough of a sample size to warrant results.
Moreover, Trudeau is viewed unfavorably among all three age-demographics, between -20% and -26%.
Saskatchewon and Alberta seem to despise Trudeau the most. 53% more Saskatchewanians view him unfavourably than favourably, while 40% of Albertans do.
Trudeau says he’s Team Barbie
On Sunday, Trudeau told Canadians he’s “team Barbie.”
The PM tweeted a picture of himself with his oldest son, Xavier, while the two were standing in front of the Barbie movie poster inside a theatre.
It was Trudeau’s first family-related post since informing Canadians that he and Sophie Trudeau were getting divorced, and asking for privacy on the matter for the sake of his children.
Chief of Staff misfires
On Friday, Katie Telford, the Prime Minister’s long-running Chief of Staff, got fact checked after attempting to shift the negative attention away from her boss and towards the opposition Conservatives.
But Twitter provided a community note to Telford’s attempted distraction away from her Trudeau’s divorce revelation, and amid some of his worst polling numbers ever.
Telford had falsely tweeted that no Conservative MP was “pro-choice” in an attempt to stir up the regular “abortion” fear-mongering card that the Liberals often resort to.
